Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov congratulates his Iranian counterpart, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.
Today, Wednesday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov congratulated his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amir-Abdollahian on his appointment as Foreign Minister in Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi's administration.
In a congratulations message, Lavrov wrote, "I am very pleased with the high-level comprehensive cooperation between Iran and Russia, that is praiseworthy in my opinion. I know that your good self is a proponent of further strengthening the multi-lateral cooperation between Iran and Russia," he added.
"Both during your service as a deputy foreign minister and when you were a vice Parliament speaker for international affairs you were always contributing to booting our bilateral ties."
Lavrov detailed joint efforts aimed to consolidate more interaction between Moscow and Tehran, in the interest of their people, and to enhance cooperation, peace, and security in the international community.
This comes in line with the Shura Council's granting confidence today to all the proposed ministers in the upcoming government of President Ebrahim Raisi, with the exception of the minister of education.
The Iranian president thanked the Islamic Consultative Assembly for reviewing the qualifications of the proposed ministers, stating that this is "a display of democracy, where deputies examine the qualifications of candidates with interest and sensitivity."
