Malaysia will never allow Palestinian cause to be neglected: FM
During a phone call, Iran's FM thanked his Malaysian counterpart for his country's stance toward the Palestine cause.
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian had a phone call Wednesday with his Malaysian Foreign Minister Saifuddin Abdullah and discussed the situation in Palestine.
During the phone call, Amir-Abdollahian thanked Abdullah for Malaysia's stance towards the situation in occupied Palestine and for condemning the actions of the Israeli occupation in Al-Quds, as well as supporting the oppressed people of Palestine.
Amir-Abdollahian called on Malaysia to take advantage of its membership in the Human Rights Council to condemn "Israel" and to demand the lifting of the siege imposed on Gaza.
The Iranian minister added that "We strongly oppose the process of normalizing relations between certain countries and the fake Israeli regime."
For his part, Malaysian Foreign Minister Saifuddin Abdullah highlighted the Malaysian-Iranian joint cooperation in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to follow up on the Palestinian cause.
Abdullah explained that Malaysia enjoys good relations with all Palestinian movements and factions, adding that his country will never allow the Palestinian cause to be neglected and for the normalization plans with "Israel" to succeed.
It is noteworthy that Malaysia does not establish any diplomatic relations with the Israeli occupation and refuses to normalize ties with it.
Along with Indonesia, Malaysia boycotted the Miss Universe contest in 2021, as it was held on occupied Palestinian territories.
