Million-man marches in Yemen hail YAF swift response to US-UK strikes
Yemenis affirm the steadfastness of their stance in support of the Palestinian people amid the ongoing Israeli war on Gaza.
The al-Sabeen Square, the largest square in the Yemeni capital Sanaa, witnessed Friday a massive million-man march in support of the Palestinian people.
Demonstrators waved the Yemeni and Palestinian flags, along with banners condemning the Israeli aggression on Gaza. They also expressed their denunciation of American and Israeli crimes against the people of Gaza and condemned the Arab and Islamic abandonment of the Palestinian people.
The crowd praised the swift response of the Yemeni Armed Forces (YAF) by targeting the American aircraft carrier Eisenhower in the Red Sea, in retaliation for the 13 strikes recently carried out by the American-British forces on Sanaa and Hodeidah, which resulted in the martyrdom of 16 and the injury of 41 others.
They also condemned the economic war waged by the Saudi-American aggression coalition against the besieged Yemeni people, the latest being the targeting of working banks in free provinces, calling on the YAF to curb those who target the citizens' sustenance.
The marches' organizers issued a joint statement in which they affirmed the steadfastness of their stance in support of Palestine and saluted the bravery of the Palestinian people and the heroism of its Resistance fighters facing the greatest barbaric war.
The statement also saluted the heroic legendary operations carried out by Palestinian fighters in Gaza and the occupied West Bank and the Resistance fighters in Lebanon and Iraq, as well as the unique operations of the brave YAF against Israeli ships.
It warned the Saudi-Emirati aggression coalition against yielding to American and Israeli pressure and carrying on with their conspiracies to target the remaining limited margin of living stability for the Yemeni people, in an attempt to dissuade Yemen from its supporting stance for the Palestinian people.
It also warned against being deceived by the misleading actions practiced by the United States to shirk its responsibility for the crimes committed against the Palestinian people and the peoples of the region, affirming that the US is the first and largest partner in all crimes against the Palestinian people.
The statement further called on the leaders of Arab and Islamic countries to take tangible practical actions and not to suffice with bland political statements, emphasizing the necessity of taking urgent practical measures by severing ties with the Israeli occupation entity and preventing its provision with goods and commodities through their ports and airports.
The million-man marches' statement expressed full solidarity with the brotherly Egyptian people against the Israeli aggression that targeted Egyptian soldiers at the Rafah crossing, which led to the martyrdom and injury of several of them, affirming its support for Egypt's right to respond firmly to this reckless attack.
In a related context, the statement praised the popular movements in various countries in support of the Palestinian people, saluting the continued pro-Palestinian student movement in dozens of American and European universities.
It also hailed Ireland, Spain, and Norway's recognition of the Palestinian state, renewing praise for the courageous stances of several South American countries for severing ties with the Israeli occupation entity and boycotting its goods. The statement called on all countries and peoples of the world to fully boycott Israeli goods and products.
It is noteworthy that Friday's march at al-Sabeen Square is the 33rd consecutive million-man march witnessed by Sanaa in support of Palestine, with the first popular flood in the Yemeni capital taking place on October 7, a few hours after the announcement of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood.
