Palestinian intellectual and writer Adnan al-Sabah is pursuing his hunger strike for the thirteenth consecutive day in Jenin, in a show of solidarity with the people of Gaza, demanding an end to the ongoing Israeli genocide against civilians.

Al-Sabah describes his strike as an expression of frustration over the ongoing violence targeting innocent civilians, particularly women, children, and the elderly, amid international silence on the occupation's atrocities.

He stresses that combating such violence requires more than just rhetoric. Al-Sabah called upon influential nations to take substantive action beyond mere verbal condemnations, urging for an international initiative to halt hostilities in Gaza.

Palestinians, most notably detainees, have frequently turned to hunger strikes as their sole method of protesting against the Israeli occupation. Palestinians do not desire to forfeit their lives; rather, they wish to improve their lives by obtaining something for themselves, their inmates, their country, or their cause.

Meanwhile, the Government Media Office in Gaza announced, on Saturday, that Israeli occupation forces are threatening to bomb and destroy the buildings of Al-Shifa Medical Complex with medical teams and residents inside.

It added that testimonies from people inside the complex indicated that the IOF threatened the medical crews and displaced Palestinians seeking shelter there that if they did not come out to be abused, investigated, and executed, they would bomb the buildings of the complex while they are still inside, as per the Office.

In this context, the Government Media Office in Gaza held the US administration and the international community fully responsible for the crime being committed by the IOF against Al-Shifa Medical Complex.

The general director of the Government Media Office in Gaza, Ismail al-Thawabta, stated that the IOF killed more than 100 people inside the Al-Shifa Medical Complex, stressing that they also executed medical personnel inside the complex.

It further called on countries across the world to condemn the Israeli genocide against Gaza, urging them to end their silence and take effective action to stop the war and ongoing massacres against Palestinians.

It is worth noting that the Ministry of Health in Gaza announced, on Saturday, that the occupation committed 7 massacres in 24 hours, killing 72 and injuring 114. This brings the total number of Palestinians killed in the Israeli aggression on Gaza since October 7 to 32,142, in addition to 74,412 injuries.
