Pezeshkian vows untangling knots under Sayyed Khamenei's supervision
Iranian media report that Sayyed Khamenei received Pezeshkian on Saturday and congratulated him on his victory in the presidential runoff.
Iranian president-elect Masoud Pezeshkian on Saturday affirmed that he has not made any false promises and has not pledged anything he cannot achieve, emphasizing that he took office to make the country prosperous and to fulfill the promises he made.
Electoral authority spokesperson Mohsen Eslami confirmed earlier that Pezeshkian received more than 16 million votes and his rival Saeed Jalili more than 13 million out of about 30 million votes cast, adding that voter turnout stood at 49.8%.
"By gaining a majority of the votes cast on Friday, Pezeshkian has become Iran's next president," the Iranian Interior Ministry also announced.
In a speech addressed to the Iranian people, Pezeshkian indicated that he is entrusted with the votes of the electorate, underlining that he took office to be "a servant to the Iranian people."

The president-elect acknowledged that the upcoming Iranian government will assume office amid dangerous circumstances, adding, "We have a difficult test ahead because we have many challenges and crises to tackle."
He stressed the need to open a new chapter and unite for the sake of Iran, expressing hope that the legislative council will be in harmony with the upcoming government to overcome obstacles.
Pezeshkian pointed out that the Iranian people have proven their ability to achieve accomplishments, overcome difficulties, and surpass obstacles.
"We will try to untangle the knots one by one under the supervision of the leader of the Revolution and the Islamic Republic, Sayyed Ali Khamenei," Pezeshkian said.
He also revealed that the first thing he did after the official results were out was thank Sayyed Khamenei, "because were it not for the wisdom of this leader, we would not have gone thus far."

Furthermore, he affirmed his need for the support of the Iranian people and wise leadership to work amid these difficult circumstances, pledging to the late leader of the Islamic Revolution, Sayyed Khomeini, to continue the path of the martyrs.
Earlier, Pezeshkian promised in his first speech to "extend the hand of friendship to everyone."
On national television, he spoke to the people saying, "We will extend the hand of friendship to everyone; we are all people of this country; we should use everyone for the progress of the country."
Sayyed Khamenei receives Pezeshkian, Jalili
Iranian media reported that Sayyed Khamenei received Pezeshkian on Saturday and congratulated him on his victory in the presidential runoff.
Sayyed Khamenei further expressed his satisfaction with the increasing turnout in the runoff, voicing hopes that Pezeshkian will harness the people's potential and the country's ample capabilities to advance the nation's progress and prosperity.
The media mentioned that the leader of the Islamic Republic gave advice to the president-elect while praying for him and wishing him success.
Additionally, Sayyed Khamenei received Iran’s former top nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili, who faced Pezeshkian in the runoff.
Jalili had congratulated his rival Masoud Pezeshkian on his victory in the country's presidential runoff.
In a message, Jalili described the transparent elections as once again demonstrating the democratic nature of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
"Now, it is time for all people in the country to assist the president-elect Pezeshkian to advance the enhance the country's status on the international stage," he pointed out.
