Raisi calls for Islamic convergence against Israeli atrocities
The Turkish President and his Iranian counterpart stress the need for Islamic unity to confront Israeli occupation crimes against Palestinians.
Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi on Friday called for a convergence in the Islamic world against the atrocities of the Israeli occupation against Palestinian worshippers at Al-Aqsa Mosque.
During a phone call with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Raisi slammed the recent Israeli attacks as a desecration of the holy place, while also condemning Israeli aggressions on Syria and Lebanon.
The Iranian President reiterated the call for holding an emergency meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to discuss ways to confront the brutal actions of the Israeli occupation.
Raisi also stressed the need to respect the territorial integrity of regional countries, pointing out that the most important approach to confront terrorism and separatism is to support the national sovereignty of states.
On his part, Erdogan underlined that "the Islamic world should be united against Israel's attacks in Palestine," as per the Turkish Presidency's Directorate of Communications.
The Turkish President also called on Tehran to continue efforts to preserve the status of holy places, including the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, at international organizations.
This comes as, on Thursday, the Israeli occupation's military said 34 rockets were launched from southern Lebanon on occupied Al-Jalil.
The occupation said the Iron Dome intercepted 25 of the projectiles, adding that at least five rockets landed in occupied Palestinian lands.
The Times of "Israel" highlighted that the attack "may mark the largest number of rockets fired from Lebanon" since the July 2006 war.
This coincided with an Israeli occupation aggression against the Gaza Strip, which was followed by a response from the Palestinian Resistance.
In addition, Al Mayadeen correspondent on early Friday confirmed that three Israeli missiles landed south of the city of Tyre, two of them in agricultural areas and another in the Qlaileh Plain.
The Israeli occupation military spokesperson claimed that the Israeli army attacked Hamas infrastructure and sites in southern Lebanon.

Iran condemns Israeli aggression on Lebanon, Gaza
Earlier, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Nasser Kanaani strongly denounced Israeli aggressions on Lebanon and the Gaza Strip.
Kanaani stressed that the attacks constitute a continuation of Al-Aqsa Mosque's desecration and the Israeli atrocities against Palestinian worshippers stationed at the Mosque.
The Iranian diplomat further added that these strikes are seen as a violation of Lebanon's sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as a flagrant violation of the principles of international law and human rights toward the oppressed Palestinian nation.
Elsewhere, he urged the international community and relevant international organizations to respond in a way that is both effective and deterrent.
