Russia will remember UK's cooperation with Ukrainian nationalists
Russia's Foreign Ministry accused London of playing one of the leading roles in the sanction hysteria, "if not the main role," and said Moscow will not forget the UK's cooperation with nationalists in Kiev.
The Russian Foreign Ministry said on Saturday that Russia will not forget how the UK cooperated with Kiev nationalists and supplied them with weapons against Russia's armed forces.
The Foreign Ministry's spokesperson, Maria Zakharova, said that "such frankness" by the UK "is worth a lot", and that it is not something they will forget.
"Just as we will not forget the cooperation of the British with the Kiev regime and ultranationalist forces in Ukraine, the ongoing supplies of British weapons these days, which are used against the civilian population of Donbass and the Russian military," she said.
Zakharova added that London's foreign policy has been completely subordinated to the tasks of inflicting the maximum amount of damage to Moscow's national interests.
She went on to say that Russia has now been left with no choice but to retaliate to the United Kingdom's sanctions with "equally hard countersanctions," accusing London of playing one of the leading roles in the sanction hysteria, "if not the main role".
"They will undoubtedly result in the undermining of UK interests in Russia. Although, London itself has done enough to that end in recent days," she added.
