Following the withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces from Jabalia camp in the northern Gaza Strip, Gaza's Civil Defense spokesperson, Major Mahmoud Basal, provided a sobering account of the widespread devastation and uncovered horrors they left behind.

Basal reported that the majority of residences in Jabalia camp were completely demolished, leaving families without shelter. Moreover, he added that the infrastructure within Jabalia camp suffered severe damage, with essential facilities such as roads, water supply systems, and electricity networks almost destroyed, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis in the area.

Elsewhere in his remarks, he mentioned that the heart of commercial activities in Jabalia camp, its central market, lay in ruins, disrupting essential trade and access to goods for the local population.

Furthermore, the main generators at the Kamal Adwan Hospital, a vital medical facility in northern Gaza, were completely obliterated, compromising the ability to provide crucial medical services to the injured and ill, as per Basal.

He also detailed that the fifth floor of the Al-Awda Hospital in northern Gaza was heavily damaged, posing significant challenges to patient care and treatment amid the ongoing genocide.

Despite the grim circumstances, Civil Defense teams persevered in their tireless search under the rubble, demonstrating unwavering commitment to locating casualties and missing individuals.

Medical sources reported that the bodies of more than 70 martyrs were recovered from the #Jabalia camp and the Beit Lahia project after the withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces today.
