8 shot in South Carolina
After two cars pulled up to a house and shots were fired, an outdoor high school graduation party in Summerton, South Carolina ended in bloodshed. According to the Clarendon County Sheriff's Office, eight people were injured.
Police claimed that the incident appears to be gang-related, and it's unclear whether members of the crowd fired back at the vehicles. During the incident, between 60 and 70 rounds were fired.
One of the victims died as a result of their injuries on Sunday morning.
14 shot in Tennessee
A shooting near a bar in Chattanooga, Tennessee, left 14 people shot while three others were run over by cars, Chattanooga Police Chief Celeste Murphy said during a press conference Sunday.
The shooting left three people dead, two from gunshot wounds and the third from being hit by a vehicle fleeing the scene, local media reported.
14-year-old girl killed in Phoenix
A shooting at a Phoenix mall killed one person and injured eight others, AP reported.
Police affirmed during a press conference that about 100 people were at a party at the strip mall around 1 am when an argument led to the shooting.
The victim, a 14-year-old girl, died in the hospital from her injuries, while two other women shot at the scene are in critical condition.
5 teens shot in Texas
Five teenagers were shot and hospitalized after gunfire erupted at a West Texas high school graduation party at 1 am Saturday, according to AP.
A fight broke out at the party, leading to the shooting, which drew up to 100 people. Two of the teenagers are in critical condition.
4 shot in Georgia
A shooting in Macon, Georgia Saturday killed one person and injured three others, according to a press release from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office.
4 shot in Arizona
A shooting outside a bar in Mesa, Arizona early Sunday, killed two people and injured two others, according to an Arizona ABC affiliate.
It is worth noting that over 140 mass shootings have taken place in the United States so far in 2022, according to data presented by research group Gun Violence Archive.
