Tens of thousands of Yemenis rallied across the country on Friday in solidarity with the Palestinian people, filling Al-Sabeen Square in the capital Sanaa and more than 500 central and local squares across 14 provinces. The demonstrations were held under the slogan: “Rejecting the US-Zionist conspiracy... standing firm with Gaza until victory.”
In a statement, organizers of the rallies reaffirmed Yemen’s steadfast position in support of Palestine, describing it as a “purely faith-driven stance that only grows stronger in the face of mounting conspiracies.” They stressed that the more the enemy seeks to undermine the Palestinian cause and resistance, the more resolute Yemen’s position becomes.
The statement declared that “the American is the other face of the Zionist,” adding that US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu are “no different in their crimes and aggression.” It warned that only the ignorant could expect goodwill from Washington or Tel Aviv.
Call for global solidarity
The Yemeni rallies extended greetings to “all the free people of the world, leaders and nations alike, who stand with the Palestinian people and their just cause.” Demonstrators emphasized that continued mobilization in support of Gaza was a pressing necessity to save lives, defend human dignity, and expose “the crimes of the Zionists and Americans.”
They warned that attempts by the US and the Israeli occupation to derail or undermine global solidarity movements were “futile and transparent.”
The statement concluded with an appeal to the wider Arab and Islamic nations, urging them to abandon “submission and weakness,” stressing that their peoples would be the first to pay the price for silence and inaction.
Rallies linked to Yemen’s battlefield support
The mass mobilization coincided with ongoing Yemeni military operations targeting sensitive sites inside the territories occupied since 1948, as well as maritime routes connected to the Israeli occupation.
The most recent operation, announced by the Yemeni Armed Forces, involved striking a ship that violated the ban on entering Israeli ports. The vessel was reported to be at risk of sinking.
The leader of Yemen's Ansar Allah movement, Sayyed Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, condemned Washington and Tel Aviv's ongoing aggression against the Palestinian people, warning that the US and "Israel" are jointly working to disarm the Palestinian resistance and empty Gaza of its defenders under the guise of so-called peace plans.
In a televised address, Sayyed al-Houthi stated that the United States and "Israel" have rejected even symbolic recognitions of a Palestinian state by some European governments. He warned that both powers are attempting to turn the Gaza Strip into an "open killing field" devoid of any armed or organized resistance. He linked these efforts to Trump's regional plan, which, he said, includes provisions designed to neutralize Palestinian fighters and uproot them from Gaza.
US and 'Israel': Partners in War Crimes and Political Cleansing
The Ansar Allah leader held Washington and Tel Aviv jointly accountable for the massacres in Gaza, describing the ongoing atrocities as "disgraceful and horrific."
"The level of Israeli crimes, backed by American partnership, has reached a monstrous and terrifying degree of criminality," he declared.
According to Sayyed al-Houthi, Washington's latest statements were intended to deflect global outrage over the genocide unfolding in Gaza, where children are starved and entire neighborhoods are erased under US-Israeli supervision.
He noted that the cruelty of these acts has embarrassed many governments into issuing symbolic gestures, such as partial recognition of a Palestinian state, merely to express their discontent.
Sayyed al-Houthi further revealed that Trump's plan, presented to Netanyahu, included clauses fulfilling long-term Israeli goals, pointing out that Trump's recognition of occupied al-Quds and other prior decisions fit within a "dangerous trajectory that seeks to seize Palestinian rights and strip Gazans of self-governance and defense."
