Yemen warns against Israeli occupation violations in Sheikh Jarrah
The Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Sanaa government says targeting Palestinians is aimed at expelling them from their homes, thus changing the historical status of the city of Al-Quds.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Sanaa government, Hisham Sharaf, affirmed that the Yemeni leadership and people are following with interest the developments of the situation in the Palestinian territories.
Sharaf warned against the continued attempts of the Israeli occupation to change the demographic identity of Al-Quds using force in Sheikh Jarrah Neighborhood.
In a statement to the official Saba news agency, Sharaf pointed out that targeting Palestinian citizens is aimed at expelling them from their homes, thus changing the historical and legal status of the city of Al-Quds.
The Yemeni Minister urged the international community to intervene to stop the inhumane Israeli violations, warning of the consequences of the continued escalation of the occupation forces, which threatens the security and stability of the region.
Sharaf also called on the UN Security Council to fulfill its responsibilities to protect Palestinians.
Palestinians rally in Sheikh Jarrah
Earlier, Al Mayadeen's correspondent reported that large military reinforcements were deployed to the vicinity of Sheikh Jarrah Neighborhood, pointing out that Palestinians are gathering in the neighborhood to confront a demonstration called for by extremist Israeli settlers.
Sheikh Jarrah Neighborhood has recently witnessed confrontations between Palestinians and the Israeli occupation forces, which attacked the neighborhood's residents and solidarity activists and arrested dozens of them.
Tension has prevailed in the neighborhood for years due to "Israel's" attempts to forcibly displace Palestinian families from their homes.
