Iran, Syria review ways to boost bilateral cooperation: SANA
In light of the tremendous losses the Syrian government suffered due to unwanted foreign interventions, Iranian Ambassador to Damascus Mahdi Sobhani met with Syrian Minister of Industry Ziad Sabbagh to discuss ways to boost bilateral trade and cooperation.
Iranian Ambassador to Damascus Mahdi Sobhani met with Syrian Minister of Industry Ziad Sabbagh in Damascus on Monday to discuss ways to increase bilateral relations in industrial sectors, as well as resuming joint industrial projects in Syria and overcoming the obstacles to their completion, SANA reported.
The Syrian minister updated the Iranian ambassador on the most recent updates on Syria's economic and industrial situation as well as signs of its recovery in light of the measures implemented to combat the effects of Western-imposed sanctions on the economy.
He also highlighted the government's desire to cooperate with friendly nations in order to fulfill all the conditions required for the industrial sector's recovery, which had suffered severe damages due to terrorism.
The Iranian ambassador, on his part, reaffirmed the Islamic Republic’s position in favor of the Syrian people and called for the two nations to increase their productive industrial relationship and cooperation.

The Syrian people have for years been the target of an imperialist-led onslaught that heavily weakened the government's capacities to rebuild the nation, which has made it difficult for public works to attend to reparations and emergencies.
Syria has recently been experiencing a number of severe issues, ranging from frequent attacks from "Israel", looting sprees of oil by US forces, recurring aggressions from Turkey, as well as terrorist attacks from DAESH.
Yet, despite facing all these pressures, Syria stands strong and defends the country against any such aggressions.
