Israeli captives to be released on Hamas conditions: Haniyeh
Ismail Haniyeh expressed that the resistance would continue in the Gaza Strip, and the whole of Palestine will persist in its "strategic battle against the enemy."
According to Ismail Haniyeh the politburo chief of Hamas, Israeli plans will fail and the Israeli captives currently being held in Gaza will only be released under conditions set by the resistance movement,
"All the plans of the enemy will fail, and it will not achieve its goals and will not return its captives, except for the price that the resistance will set," Haniyeh expressed.
He further added that resistance would continue in the Gaza Strip, and the whole of Palestine would persist in its "strategic battle against the enemy."
A senior Israeli political source said Tuesday that progress has been made on a captive deal and a breakthrough could come in the next 48-72 hours.
The Israeli War Cabinet met on Tuesday night to discuss the deal, the source said.
Israeli officials have said as many as 239 Israelis are being held captive in Gaza.
This comes after demonstrations took over "Tel Aviv", on Tuesday, as families of the Israeli captives in the Gaza Strip took to the streets, escalating pressure on the government of Israeli occupation government's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, demanding answers amid conflicting news regarding a possible exchange deal with the Palestinian Resistance, mediated by Egypt and Qatar and with a US blessing.
The settlers protesting Netanyahu's government, carrying pictures of their children who are being held captive in the Strip, demanded "Netanyahu and the government give us answers and measures," stressing that they "no longer have the strength."
Another Israeli settler underscored, "We do not have time to wait any longer. Every day that passes puts the lives of the prisoners in danger."
Hamas reiterates its call for protest
A message to the world was sent by Palestinian Resistance Movement Hamas on Thursday urging the Islamic communities to organize protests against “Israel's” ongoing attacks on medical facilities and hospitals in Gaza.
On Telegram, it said: “Let the coming Friday, Saturday, and Sunday be days of the activation of all forms of demonstrations, public rallies, and events in all cities, capitals, and squares under the slogan 'Save Gaza's hospitals, Save Gaza's children”.
The call was addressed to "our Palestinian people, the Arab and Islamic communities, and free people all over the world."
Qatar on Thursday argued that independent UN investigators should be sent to Gaza to carry out "an immediate and comprehensive" investigation after the IOF deployed soldiers, tanks, and bulldozers to the Al-Shifa hospital, which happens to be the largest medical complex in Gaza.
After extracting no evidence to confirm their claims, the Israeli Occupation Forces said the military raid into the hospital “is still underway and will take time."
