The Israeli occupation forces have intensified their ongoing aggression on the Gaza Strip, launching a series of deadly airstrikes and artillery bombardments that have targeted residential areas, aid distribution centers, and displaced persons camps, resulting in dozens of martyrs and injuries amid a near-total humanitarian collapse.

Al Mayadeen’s correspondent reported that Israeli forces opened fire on civilians near a US aid distribution point north of Rafah, killing six Palestinians and injuring over ten others. The attack was one of the deadliest in recent hours and forms part of a broader pattern of targeting aid-dependent civilians.

Additional strikes claimed lives in northern areas of Gaza City and the Nuseirat refugee camp, where civilians had gathered in anticipation of receiving humanitarian aid. Reports confirmed casualties in both locations.

Residential areas, shelters under fire

Simultaneously, Israeli warplanes bombed civilian homes in al-Zawaida in central Gaza, the Hamad residential complex, and the western Sattir area in northern Khan Younis. Further airstrikes hit Beit Lahia and Jabalia in northern Gaza, killing and injuring dozens, many of them women and children.

In the displacement tents of al-Mawasi, west of Khan Younis, airstrikes struck civilian gatherings, causing several injuries in what was considered a safe zone under international law. Another strike on a home near the Ain Jalut towers in the Nuseirat led to the death of a child and left several others wounded.

Humanitarian catastrophe unfolds

According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza, the total number of martyrs has risen to 55,959, with 131,242 injuries since the Israeli aggression began on October 7, 2023. The ministry added that 51 martyrs and 104 injuries were recorded over 24 hours alone.

Many victims remain trapped under rubble and in streets inaccessible to emergency teams due to the ongoing bombardment and severe shortages of rescue equipment. The ministry warned of an intensifying humanitarian disaster as relief efforts collapse under sustained attacks.

Field reports stress that the Israeli occupation’s deliberate targeting of aid centers and displaced persons camps marks a dangerous escalation in the nature of the assault on Gaza.

Airstrikes target tents sheltering the displaced

The bombing campaign extended to southern Gaza as well. In Khan Younis, five Palestinians were killed when Israeli forces struck a tent sheltering displaced families in the al-Mawasi area. The victims were among thousands who had fled their homes due to the ongoing assault and were living without adequate protection or humanitarian support.

In central Gaza, the al-Awda Hospital reported that eight wounded Palestinians were brought in following an Israeli strike on a group of people waiting for aid along Salah al-Din Road, south of Wadi Gaza.

These attacks come amid the Israeli regime’s relentless assault on the Gaza Strip, which continues to deepen the humanitarian crisis. Essential supplies remain critically scarce, while tens of thousands of displaced residents are crammed into overcrowded shelters or open areas with no protection or access to aid.

Renewed massacres

Israeli occupation forces are committing new massacres in the Gaza Strip, targeting civilian homes, locations, and aid distribution centers as part of their ongoing aggression, which has persisted for over a year and a half.

On Friday, the Israeli occupation carried out a new series of massacres against Palestinian civilians in Gaza, killing at least 40 and injuring over 120, including women and children, in strikes targeting multiple areas across the Strip.

Al Mayadeen's correspondent reported that 12 Palestinians were killed in an Israeli airstrike targeting a home in Deir al-Balah in central Gaza, while three others were killed and several wounded in a drone attack on civilians near the Sheikh Radwan cemetery west of Gaza City.
