Sayyed Khamenei hails Iranian Navy achievements as 'impressive'
The Iranian leader met with commanders of the Iranian Navy on the National Day of the Navy in Iran.
The leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Sayyed Ali Khamenei, met with a group of commanders and officials in the Iranian Navy where he touched on naval economic policies, new capabilities in the naval force, and economic policies in place to vitalize hope in the Iranian society.
Sayyed Khamenei termed the progress of the navy since the beginning of the Islamic Revolution as "impressive" and "unbelievable" on the day that marks the National Day of the Navy in Iran's calendar.
In the first years of the victory of the Islamic Revolution, the presence of the army navy beyond territorial waters was unimaginable, but now the army navy travels 360 degrees around the world with strength and returns to the country with pride, the leader said, referring to the 360-degree mission of Iran navy.
The two key policies of Iran's naval forces, according to Sayyed Khamenei, are extending influence in the sea and relying on technology.
During the conference, Rear Admiral Shahram Irani, Commander of the Iranian Navy, provided a report on the Iranian Navy's capabilities and actions. He also expressed gratitude and appreciation for the leader's announcement of the sea-based development policies, highlighting the Navy's eagerness to implement them.
The Commander noted that Iran's influence in the sea was increasing due to its capabilities.
During a ceremony yesterday, the Deylaman destroyer officially joined the Islamic Republic of Iran Navy.
Deylaman will be deployed in the Caspian Sea where it will ensure the safety of shipping and enhance the skills of navy members, according to the commander of the Iranian Navy, Rear Admiral Shahram Irani.
The Navy's chief said Deylaman is an updated version of the Jamaran vessel, the lead ship of the Iranian Mowj-class frigate, as it has been equipped with new equipment.
He added that the Islamic Republic of Iran Navy plans to hold two joint naval exercises with foreign military forces in the northern tip of the Indian Ocean within the next few months.
Iran's consistent technological advances
The Iranian military revealed a number of weapons in November, including the Fattah hypersonic missile, which was inspected by the leader of the Islamic Revolution Sayyed Ali Khamenei during a visit to an IRGC Aerospace Force exhibition. Fattah 2 is a hypersonic cruise missile classified as part of the HGV (Hypersonic Glide Vehicle).
A number of attack and reconnaissance drones were also put on display during the exhibition, highlighting key advances in Iranian military production.
In a similar context, on November 13, the commander of Iran's northeast air defense zone, Brigadier General Mohammadreza Masoumi, stated that Iran has updated its air defense systems in response to new threats.
