Barca signs Ferran Torres
Spaniard player Ferran Torres signs a 5-year-contract with Barcelona coming from English side Manchester City.
FC Barcelona signed Tuesday Spanish international Ferran Torres from Manchester City, the Catalan side announced.
Despite their financial struggles, Barcelona has reportedly agreed on a deal worth 55 million euros ($62 million, £47 million).
In a statement on their website, the club announced that it "has reached an agreement with Manchester City for the transfer of Ferran Torres."
The Spaniard signed with Barcelona until June 30th, 2027.

His stay in City
Torres scored 16 goals in 43 appearances for Manchester City since joining from Valencia last year, but this season has been disrupted by a fractured foot that has kept him out of the field since October.
During his full season with Manchester City, the 22-year-old has won the Premier League, League Cup, and reached the Champions League final.
For his part, City manager Pep Guardiola said last week that Torres had asked to leave and he would not stand in his way.
Torres will be filling in retired Sergio Aguero's place, who left Barcelona earlier this month due to a heart condition.
On its website, the English club Manchester City said everyone at the club "sends their best wishes to Ferran ahead of his move to Barcelona."

Barca struggling
Already eliminated from the Champions League at the group stage for the first time in 20 years, Barca is struggling to qualify for next season's competition as they rank seventh in La Liga ahead of the winter break.
However, they could even still have trouble registering Torres within the salary limit imposed by La Liga.
Lionel Messi's departure to Paris Saint-Germain was caused by the club being unable to keep the Argentine due to huge debts.
Barca recorded losses of 481 million euros last season, with a gross debt of 1.35 billion euros.
