'Israel' committing genocide in Gaza to end Palestinian cause: Syria
The Syrian envoy to the UN, Al-Hakam Dandi, highlights that the aim behind the occupation's “barbaric” crimes against the Palestinians is to displace them and alter the demographic layout of Palestine
The Syrian Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations said that "Israel's" way of eliminating the Palestinian cause is by committing massacres in Gaza.
At an informal UN General Assembly meeting in New York on the humanitarian situation in Gaza, Al-Hakam Dandi condemned the Occupation's allies for ignoring the genocide in Gaza.
"Through its brutal war on the Palestinian people, which enjoys Western support, Israel seeks to liquidate the Palestinian cause by committing massacres and genocide," Dandi said, as cited by Syrian news agency SANA on Monday.
He added, "The Syrian Arab Republic, condemns in the strongest terms the continuing barbaric aggression of the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people, and also denounces the cover-up by some Western countries for the indiscriminate bombing and killing of civilians".
Last month, Dandi echoed a similar statement during a UNSC quarterly meeting on "The situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian question."
"The Israeli occupation committed war crimes and crimes against humanity during its aggression on the Gaza Strip, using internationally banned weapons, as well as cutting off water, medicine, electricity, and fuel from people and threatening them with forcible displacement", he said.

'Western complicity, justifying crime'
Dandi also called out the "brazen" refusal of the West to abide by the Security Council's adopted resolutions for a ceasefire.
The Syrian envoy highlighted that the aim behind the occupation's "barbaric" crimes against the Palestinians is to displace them and alter the demographic layout of Palestine, as he stressed Syria's support of the Palestinian people in their resistance against the Occupation and in the struggle to free prisoners and occupied land to establish the independent, sovereign state with al-Quds as its capital.
This comes after Syrian President Bashar al-Assad met with his Iraqi counterpart Abdul Latif Rashid on the sidelines of the Arab-Islamic Joint Summit held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia last Saturday.
Both presidents strongly condemned the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip that is targeting civilians and hospitals.
They emphasized the need for the immediate cessation of Israeli airstrikes and bombardment, the protection of the civilian population, ensuring the delivery of humanitarian aid to besieged families, and providing safe passages for civilians.
President al-Assad stressed that the Israeli war machine is being pushed forward due to "Western complicity, justifying all forms of crime and destruction in the region."
