Oct. 7 operation shattered Israeli deterrence: Former Israeli official
The former chief of the Israeli "National Security Council" tells Maariv that the occupation entity can't take "unnecessary risks" regarding the Resistance.
The former head of the Israeli "National Security Council" said that the October 7 operation shattered Israeli deterrence, and "Israel" must reclaim it and "bring about a fundamental change in its security reality."
In an interview for Maariv, Meir Ben-Shabbat said that "after October 7, Israel cannot suffice with ... promises."

He warned that "[Israel's] geographical proximity to Hamas does not allow for unnecessary risks at the present time, and the current circumstances are unlike America's wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, which were thousands of miles away."
According to the top security official, the United States is pushing the occupation entity "toward an agreed-upon plan in order to enhance its image" regarding its role in the Middle East, launching slogans like: "We prevented a regional war" or "We put an end to the Arab-Israeli conflict."

Ben-Shabbat concluded by saying that "the behavior of the United States increases concerns" that "understandings are being woven behind the scenes, and [that] this will not solve the problems," asking, "Is Washington again seeking agreements that are doomed?"
President Joe Biden claimed earlier this month that he proposed a plan for a ceasefire in the Middle East, expressing "his determination to reach an agreement."
Biden said that "the time has come to end the war in Gaza," adding that he "discussed with Israeli ministers how more aid can be introduced into Gaza, but Israel has not cooperated at times."
The President's statements came a few days ahead of the horrific Israeli massacre in the al-Mawasi refugee camp, killing and wounding over 400 Palestinians after "Israel" bombed makeshift tents sheltering forcibly displaced families. The occupation used US-made bombs in the strike, which were recently supplied by Washington, Maariv reported then.
'Cease to exist'
Ben-Shabbat's remarks came shortly after Knesset Member and former Security Minister Avigdor Lieberman warned that the entity might "cease to exist" in two years if Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu remains on top of the government.
Also talking to Maariv, the head of the Yisrael Beiteinu Party said that Netanyahu is leading "Israel" toward "destruction", adding that the premier is mainly concerned about staying in power.

“Israel is facing existential threats and is undergoing a multi-dimensional crisis encompassing political, economic, and security issues—the most significant since its establishment," Lieberman said.
He added that the occupation entity today is facing unprecedented existential threats and a multifaceted crisis – political, economic, and security.
On Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, Lieberman accused Netanyahu of failing to prevent the Resistance attack due to his years-long wrong policies in dealing with Hamas and its leaders.
