Pro-Palestinian Canadians demand PM to end selling arms to 'Israel'
Protesters demand that Canadian PM Justin Trudeau take more momentous action for Gaza, stressing that Canada's vote for a ceasefire does not suffice.
Canadian media reported that pro-Palestinian demonstrators gathered outside the Ottawa Shaw Center, demanding PM Justin Trudeau to take more momentous action for the sake of Gaza, saying Canada's vote for a ceasefire does not suffice.
On Tuesday, Canada voted in favor of an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, sending shockwaves across Canadian Zionist groups.
In defense of Canada's stance, UN Ambassador Bob Rae stated that the vote was adopted to end the suffering of innocent civilians in Gaza. "We are alarmed at the diminishing safe space for civilians in Gaza," he said, adding that "the ongoing humanitarian crisis has weighed heavily in Canada's decision to support this resolution."
Canada's vote reflected an unprecedented change in its historic support for "Israel", even throughout the multiple mass war crimes the latter committed in Palestine.
"Thousands of children are now orphans," Foreign Affairs Minister Melanie Joly said on Tuesday in Parliament Hill. "Countless Palestinian civilians in Gaza are suffering without water, food, fuel, or medicine, and their homes have been reduced to rubble," she added.
The National Council of Canadian Muslims deemed the UN vote a "milestone" but stressed that more decisive action should be taken in turn.

US, UK, Canada complicit in Gaza genocide
Despite Canada's symbolic shift in stance at the UN, it is still seen as a culprit in the war against Gaza.
Canada, along with the US and the UK, proposed to impose sanctions on multiple Iranian nationals across the world for alleged "human rights violations". Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Nasser Kanaani pointed out that the trio must be held responsible for their complicity in the genocide by "Israel" in Gaza.
"Countries that have a black track record of colonial history and systematic abuse of human rights,… with such biased and sham measures, are seeking to divert the world’s public opinion from their anti-human rights actions and their full cooperation with the inhumane crimes of the child-killing Zionist regime," he stated.
He continued to call out their "double-standard" approach, which has done "grave injustice" to the values of human rights that they claim to represent.
"The governments of the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada, given their historic and continuous support to the Israeli regime, and their public political, military, intelligence, and media support for the regime’s war crimes in Gaza over the past two months, should be held to account as accomplices in the crimes."
