Former US President Donald Trump has expressed he would like to see a transcript of the phone call that took place between current US President Joe Biden and President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky on January 27.
According to a CNN journalist who spoke with Zelensky following the call last week, Biden informed Zelenskyy that Russia's purported "invasion" of Ukraine was "certain once the ground freezes" and warned Zelenskyy that Kiev may be "sacked". Emily Horne, a spokesperson for the US National Security Council, has previously denied the report.
In an interview with Newsmax, Trump said, "It'd be interesting to see [a transcript of] the call. I suspect that the call was pretty much like they say, but it's not gonna change anything, not gonna change anything. But it certainly would be really interesting to see it."
Trump went on to say that the US is "going to hell" under Biden's leadership. Trump said Biden has done immense damage to the country particularly in terms of inflation, the COVID-19 epidemic, and "military embarrassment" in Afghanistan. Trump pointed out that Biden's strategy has harmed US relations with Russia and China.
"You can add up five presidents, they haven't done the damage this man [Biden] has done last year," he added.
It is worth mentioning that Russia has repeatedly denied the Western allegations of intending to invade Ukraine, and Moscow's Foreign Intelligence Service accused the US State Department of spreading false information about the alleged troop buildup.
The Kremlin has previously denounced the US for driving "hysteria" over a possible Russian invasion of Ukraine with Putin saying the West is "escalating" the Ukraine war.
