Earlier, the Israeli occupation confirmed that three first sergeants were killed in the northern Gaza Strip.
According to Israeli Channel 12, the soldiers died in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast in Jabalia, adding that the evacuation operation was prolonged and took place under heavy fire, during which several other Israeli soldiers were wounded.
The incident comes amid ongoing operations by Palestinian resistance groups across various areas of the Gaza Strip.
Resistance factions confront Israeli forces in Beit Lahia
On Thursday, fighters from various Palestinian Resistance factions launched a series of coordinated attacks on Israeli forces in the northern and central Gaza Strip, resulting in casualties among Israeli soldiers.
The al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, confirmed a joint operation with al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement. The operation involved engaging an Israeli infantry unit comprising 10 soldiers west of Beit Lahia, northern Gaza, using firearms and hand grenades. According to the statement, the Resistance fighters inflicted casualties among the Israeli forces. Additionally, they pursued one fleeing soldier and neutralized him at close range, west of Beit Lahia.
In another operation, al-Quds Brigades reported an operation that targeted a house in Jabalia refugee camp where several Israeli soldiers had taken position. Before withdrawing, the fighters detonated an explosive device inside the building, causing significant damage. Helicopters were observed evacuating the dead and wounded Israeli troops from the site.
Meanwhile, the Ansar Brigades, the military wing of the Harakat al-Ahrar, and the Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades, affiliated with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, announced a joint rocket strike on an Israeli command and control site in Juhr al-Dik, south of Gaza City.
Since the Israeli military resumed its offensive on March 18, Palestinian fighters have launched a series of coordinated ambushes targeting advancing Israeli forces. These operations have reportedly resulted in multiple casualties among the Israeli ranks.
